Jerris Evans, aka “Quick the Poet,” is a spoken word pioneer in South Florida. He uses an “off-the-porch” style to express his love for poetry, which involves candid conversations. In a video interview, Jerris showed poise and animation in his responses. He wears many hats, including being an educator, poet, event host, entrepreneur, philanthropist, husband, and father. He is easily recognizable by his signature angled fedora.
